About Us

STBOA is one of fifteen chapters of the New York State Building Officials Conference.

Locally we are compromised of building inspectors, code enforcement officers, fire inspectors, fire fighters, contractors, engineers, and architects from the counties of Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Seneca, Schuyler, Stueben, Tioga, and Tompkins.

The primary goal of STBOA is education of its members, the building construction community, fire safety personnel, elected officials, as well as the general public. We work to keep our knowledge and understanding of the “New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code” up to date and raise our level of professionalism in its administration. This is accomplished through schools, seminars and quarterly meetings held in March, June, September, and December, many of which are granted in-service training credits by the Department of State, Division of Code Enforcement.
